Get ready to get your HA-HA on for the holiday! Dad's Garage Theatre Company will host an ugly Christmas sweater improv night full of laughter and holiday treats.
This event is free to attend. No RSVP required.
Meet the Improvisers who will be starring at Laughs + Merriment:
Ed has been improvising with Dad's Garage since 2007, and has been funny since about 2013. Since then he has performed in and directed a bunch improv shows and represented Dad's at festivals around the US and internationally, including the 2014 London 50 Hour Improvathon and The Vancouver International Improv Festival.
In addition to his improv work, Ed has also appeared in Dad's Garage scripted shows such as The Change: Another Teenage Werewolf Musical and Song of the Living Dead, as well as co-writing the dumb filthy nerdfest Wrath of Con. Plus, legend has it that if you burn a black heavy metal t-shirt at midnight, you can summon him.
Whitney loves surprises! The best one yet has been the world of improv. After completing her B.A. in Theatre from LaGrange College, Whittney came to the 'A' searching for a theatre community. The stars aligned and in 2009 she came to Dad's to play Alicia in Large Animal Games. One night after a rehearsal, her curious nature got the best of her. She wanted to know about this "improv" business and decided to stay for a show.
The talent on stage blew her mind and she was immediately hooked, naturally. Now as a Member of the General Company, Whittney is mega monster thankful that Dad's gave a home to such a scrappy sassin' blonde rascal. Whittney can be seen in both scripted and improvised shows at Dad's and around Atlanta. She also performs with, and plans blasty fun events for, Automatic Improv at Relapse Theatre. Whittney can't get enough of BOLD colors, hugging animals, or having some fun! Warning: If you see her around, she will probably toss a "Meow" your way…it's a loooong story. Just know it is a sign of friendship. Meow!
Travis almost turned around and left the first time he visited Dad's Garage, because back in 2000 it looked like a murder shed. He went in anyway, did not get murdered, and fell in love.
Since then, Travis has performed in hundreds of improvised and scripted shows; co-created shows like B.R.A.W.L., Song of the Living Dead, The Change, and Invasion: Our Town; and had multiple bouts of butterfly-induced diarrhea in Dad's Garage's green room toilet, which is surely one of Atlanta's worst.
Lastly, Justin Greer will be your on-site musician.
