Amari Holmes joined the Colony Square Concierge team in February 2022 after working a seasonal position at the ice-skating rink, which made its nostalgic return in November 2021 for the first time since the mid-1970s. Originally from Detroit, Amari moved to Atlanta with her family when she was 10 years old. Growing up, she held several consumer-facing roles at establishments such as restaurants and grocery stores, discovering her love for making an impact on people’s lives from a young age. During her sophomore year of high school Amari spent two weeks on an ambassador trip to China through the People to People International Student Travel Program. On her excursions abroad, she became passionate about international travel and cuisine. Also while in high school, she received a runway modeling scholarship from Barbizon, where she learned poise and confidence.
Post-graduation, Amari attended Oglethorpe University and gained a Bachelor of Arts in English and Comparative Literature. Following college, she moved to China to teach English through First Leap; however, her stay was cut short due to COVID-19, and she was forced to return to the US after only six months. Amari realized a fondness for molding young minds and continued teaching online from home for a year-and-a-half until moving back to Atlanta in the fall of 2021, when she began working as a preschool teacher in Decatur.
Outside of work, Amari enjoys reading psychological thrillers at Piedmont Park, creative writing, cooking and singing. She also serves on North American Properties’ Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
