05.13.2021
ATLANTA (May 14, 2021) Balsamic onion and mushroom pizzas, grilled Jerk Chicken platters and draft, all-natural margaritas will soon be on the menu at Politan Row at Colony Square, Midtown Atlanta’s newest food hall at the corner of Peachtree and 14th Streets. Talent-driven food hall Politan Row announced today Mario Ali’s Neapolitan-style pizza concept Belli Pizzeria, Taylur Davis’ Caribbean cuisine Locale Cafe and the food hall’s beverage program Bar Politan will be the latest additions to the culinary experience set to open on June 24.
Politan Row at Colony Square is the seventh and largest food hall from Politan Group, which will operate a best-in-class beverage experience, Bar Politan. The food hall’s beverage offering features a unique wine list, as well as a mix of classic and inventive cocktails, for guests to sip and stroll throughout the open-container property. Politan Group tapped Quinton Anderson, seasoned hospitality veteran with 15+ years of experience, as Beverage Manager for Bar Politan. Anderson began his career in Atlanta, where he fell in love with cocktail construction and luxury presentation, and continued to develop his talents in notable positions at The Miami Beach Edition, The Conrad Hotel, The Whitley Hotel and The W Buckhead.
“The food hall is designed to give Midtown the ultimate dining experience – from the minute people walk in the door to the moment they leave – and a very important part of that experience is the beverage they drink,” said Will Donaldson, founder and CEO of Politan Group. “The Bar Politan menu is designed so that there’s no wrong choice, whether it’s a seasonal cocktail or the perfect patio rose. Quinton shares our taste for detail and quality and we’re excited to have him lead the program.”
Bar Politan will feature a 40-seat central bar right in the middle of all the action, as well as the event bars around the food hall. The focus for the program will be on craft cocktails with high-quality ingredients and a great accessible wine selection. Guests can delight in happy hours at Bar Politan from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with refreshing cocktails starting at $7. On the weekends, enjoy Brunch favorites, from bloody marys to mimosas, with a signature twist on the patio.
In addition to the already announced Federal Burger, Bun Mi Grill, YŌM, Pretty Little Taco and Gekko, the new dining concepts opening at Politan Row at Colony Square this summer are:
- Belli Pizzeria, a Neapolitan-style pizza concept founded by Mario Ali. A veteran in the food service industry, Ali grew up in his family’s restaurants in New York City and has touched a variety of businesses in Atlanta, from managing the restaurants and bars at Kimpton Hotel to helping open six nightclubs and restaurants, including True Food Kitchen. He was also the private chef for the cast of Fast and the Furious and the Transformers franchise. Ali’s Belli, a riff on the Italian word for beautiful, will combine the best ingredients with attention to detail to bring flavorful dishes to Midtown, including the classic Pizza Margherita, as well as a prosciutto and arugula pizza and charcuterie plates.
- Locale Cafe, accessible Caribbean cuisine, specializing in Jerk Chicken, brought to life by Taylur Davis. A dynamic entrepreneur with a love for hospitality, Davis trained and worked in LA alongside Chef Tony Nuygen of Crustacean Beverly Hills, as well as with several elite celebrities, before relocating back to her hometown of Atlanta. Locale Cafe at Politan Row will be Davis’ first brick and mortar restaurant and will serve up Caribbean-inspired dishes from classic Jamaican meat patties and Jerk wings to succulent stewed Oxtail bowls and grilled Jerk Chicken platters.
The grand opening of Politan Row at Colony Square will kick off with a ticketed “Taste Reimagined” event on Thursday, June 24. Guests are invited to don their best summer chic for a one-of-a-kind soiree filled with exquisite decor, live music, a tasting tour and meet-and-greets with the culinary talent. Tickets will open to the public on June 1. The celebrations continue with a public ribbon cutting and day-long festivities on Friday, June 25, as well as live music in the Plaza on Saturday, June 26. Throughout the weekend, guests will be invited to delight in the food hall’s adventurous cuisines and explore its expansive community spaces, from the mysterious secret bar to the 22,000 square feet of outdoor dining space.
“A food hall is something that Midtown has long been craving – and it’s almost here. We’ve got an incredible mix of local chef talent, and plenty of space both indoors and outdoors to explore. All I can say is, I know where I’m spending my time this summer,” said Adam Schwegman, partner and SVP of leasing at North American Properties (NAP).
Politan Row at Colony Square will be the latest addition to the mixed-use destination’s retail, restaurant and entertainment collection. Later this summer, Colony Square will welcome Serena Pastificio, Holeman and Finch Public House, Rumi’s Kitchen, King of Pops, Lush Nail Bar, Sweetgreen and Saints + Council.
