At the corner of 14th and Peachtree Streets sits Colony Square, the first-ever mixed-use development to rise in the Southeast. For more than 50 years, the iconic destination has anchored the Midtown Atlanta community and served as the heartbeat of the city. Owned and operated by North American Properties (NAP), the reimagined Colony Square brings the Art of Modern Life to Midtown and features nearly one million square feet of class A office, 160,000 square feet of best-in-class retail, restaurants and entertainment, a 20,000-square-foot food hall featuring an all-local lineup of culinary talent, 40,000 square feet of open-air greenspace, 262 luxury residences and a 466-room hotel. Since its inception in the early 1970s, Colony Square has brought an unmatched energy to the streets of Midtown, and now, the destination has once again re-emerged as the crown jewel of the vibrant district. The reimagined Colony Square is a foodie haven; shopping mecca; events destination; and a beautiful, amenity-rich and arts-infused place to gather with the community and soak up Midtown's vibe. This Friday at the corner of 14th and Peachtree Streets in Midtown Atlanta, Colony Square will launch its “Season on the Square,” a collection of festive, community-driven activations ranging from ice-skating to moments with Santa and more. Kicking off the Season on the Square is the launch of Skate on the Square and The North Pole at Colony Square.
During the winter of 1973, Colony Square unveiled a unique office amenity: an indoor ice-skating rink known as the Colony Square Capades Chalet that sat within the formerly enclosed mall, which has since been replaced by The Plaza, a 10,000-square-foot open-air gathering space at the heart of the property. After much anticipation, the ice-skating rink will make its nostalgic return to Colony Square when it opens this week in Midtown’s Living Room.
Details on the ice-skating rink and holiday-themed speakeasy include:
Skate on the Square | November 19 through January 17 – Throughout the holiday season, The Plaza will be transformed into an ice-skating rink. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 3 to 9 p.m.; Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.; Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.; and on school holidays from noon to 10 p.m. Tickets, which include skates, are $18 per adult and $14 per child (12 & under) and can be purchased here.
The North Pole at Colony Square | November 19 through December 23 – Set atop Establishment overlooking 14th and Juniper Streets, The Grove Terrace will play host to a seasonal igloo-inspired speakeasy. The pop-up bar will be open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. Entry is first come, first served for visitors 21 or older, and capacity is limited to 50 guests at a time.
